Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling






Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Adapter for Oil Filling (VAS 6262 A)

Adapter for Filling ATF Oil (VAS 6262/2)

- Turn off the engine.

Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 or used oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.

- Remove the plug from the transmission pan - arrow -.






- Remove the overflow tube - 1 - from the plug hole.






- Drain the transmission fluid.

- Reinstall the overflow tube.

- Install the adapter for oil filling (VAS 6262 A) to the fluid bottle. Be sure to read the instructions => [ Note the Following Information: ] Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.

- Install the adapter for filling ATF oil (VAS 6262/2) into the plug hole hand tight.






- Fill with 3 liters of fluid. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Remove the adapter for filling ATF oil (VAS 6262/2) from the pan and reinstall and tighten the plug with the old seal.

- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

- Start the engine.

- With the brake pedal pressed, move the selector lever through all the different positions "P, R, N, D, S" at idle, stopping at each position for at least 10 seconds.

- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

- Check the ATF level and add, as necessary. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.
