Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

Cable Coupling

Disconnecting

- Open the hood.

- Unclip the cable coupling - 1 - from the mount - 2 - above the headlamp on the driver side.






- Slightly remove the cable - 1 - from the cable coupling - 2 - - arrow a -.






- At the same time, open the cable coupling - 2 - - arrow b -.

- Move the cable - 1 - in direction of the - arrow c - and remove it from the cable coupling - 2 - - arrow d -.

Assembling

- Insert the ball from the cable - 1 - into the cable coupling ball socket - 2 - - arrow a -.






- Push the cable - 1 - in the direction of - arrow b - in the cable coupling - 2 -.

- Close the cable coupling - 2 - - arrow c -.

- Slightly push the cable - 1 - into the cable coupling - 2 - - arrow d -, until the cable locks.

- Clip in the cable coupling in the mount above the driver side headlamp.

• Make sure that the grommets are secured in the correct mounts - 2 - and - 3 - when installing the cable - 1 -.






• Before closing the hood, make sure the hood release lever and the cable are working correctly.
