Shift Knob, Boot and Noise Insulation

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

• Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1275)

Removing

- Unclip the boot - B - and frame from the center console using the trim removal wedge (3409).






- Fold the boot and frame upward over the shift knob - A -.

- Open the clamp - arrow - and remove the shift knob and boot.






- Remove the noise insulation - 1 -, if equipped.






Installing

- Install the noise insulation - 1 - first, if equipped.






- Then, turn the inner side of the boot toward the outside.

Install the shift knob all the way on.

- Install the shift knob with the boot and squeeze the new clamp - arrow - together.






- Clip the boot and frame into the center console.
