Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor G179

• The driver thorax airbag crash sensor (G179) is installed on the front door carrier plate.

Removing

The general safety precautions for working on airbag, belt tensioner and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components) must be observed. Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units General Safety Precautions.

Perform the following:

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to => [ Front Door Trim ] Front Door Trim.






- Disconnect the wiring harness - 2 - from the driver side airbag crash sensor (G179) - 1 -.

- Push the catch - arrow - upward with a screwdriver. Remove the driver thorax airbag crash sensor (G179) - 1 - from the carrier plate.

Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Turn on the ignition.

Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
