Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pry Lever (80-200)

General Information

The Wiper Motor Control Module (J400) is integrated with the Windshield Wiper Motor.

DTC recognition and display

The Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) is equipped with OBD.

Use the Vehicle diagnostic tester in "Guided Fault Finding".

Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

Remove the key.

Removing

- Remove the wiper frame together with the linkage rod, refer to => [ Wiper Frame with Linkage and Windshield Wiper Motor (V), Removing ] Wiper Frame with Linkage and Windshield Wiper Motor (V), Removing.

- Pry off ball head - arrow - of linkage - 1 - from motor crank using (80-200).






- Remove the nut - 1 -.






- Remove the motor crank - 2 - from the windshield wiper motor shaft.

- Remove the mounting bolts - arrows - and remove the windshield wiper motor with the windshield wiper motor control module from the wiper frame.

Installing

- Install the windshield wiper motor with the windshield wiper motor control module in the wiper frame and tighten the bolts - arrows -.






- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification shown in => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

- Mount the motor crank - 1 - on the windshield wiper motor shaft.

Distance - a - to stop - 2 - must be 3 +/- 1 mm.






- Tighten the motor crank and the windshield wiper motor shaft with the nut - 3 -.

- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification shown in => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

- Push the ball head - arrow - on the linkage - 1 - onto the motor crank.
