Rear Seat Belts







Rear Seat Belts

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Door adjusting wrench (3320)






Box spanner (3320/2)

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)






Removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle is described here. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing

- Remove seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat

Do not press the rear seat backrests onto the center backrest mounting! To prevent damage to the backrest cover, place a foam piece or similar material between the backrest mounting and the backrest!

- Remove the side luggage compartment cover support. Refer to => [ Side Luggage Compartment Cover ] Side Luggage Compartment Cover

- Remove the C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ C-pillar Trim ] C-pillar Trim.

- Fold the backrest forward.






- Mark the installed position of the belt end fitting - 1 -, i.e. with a scriber.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - with the door adjusting wrench (3320) and the box spanner (3320/2) (40 Nm) and loosen the belt end fitting - 1 - from the body.

- Remove the bolt - 3 - (40 Nm) and remove the automatic belt retractor - 4 - from the mount - arrow -.

Do not grip the seat belt guide - 5 - when removing or installing the automatic belt retractor- 4 -. Damage risk.

Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.
