Air Door Cable: Service and Repair

Temperature Door Release Cable

• Only for vehicles without A/C System and for vehicles with A/C system removed.

• The air distribution for vehicles with climatronic is regulated using the left temperature door actuator (V158) and the left temperature door potentiometer (G220) and using the right temperature door actuator (V159) and the right temperature door potentiometer (G221). • The instrument panel is not pictured in order to enhance the illustration.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the heat and fresh air controls. Refer to => [ Front Heat and Fresh Air Controls ] Front Heat and Fresh Air Controls.

- Remove the center console. Refer to Storage Compartments, Covers and Trim.

- Remove the driver footwell vent. Refer to => [ Footwell Vent, Driver Side ] Footwell Vent, Driver Side.

- Remove nuts- 1 - (9 Nm).

- Remove bolts - 4 - (9 Nm), remove bracket - 5 - from the heater and A/C unit - 2 - and from instrument panel cross-member - 3 -.






- Push the circlip - 5 - for the rear heat and fresh air controls to the side, - 4 - and remove the release cable - 3 - from out of the retainer and then remove the adjusting lever.

- Release the cable retainer mount - 2 - - arrows - and remove it from the heater and A/C unit retainer.

- Remove the release cable - 3 - from the retainer - 6 - on the heater and A/C unit.

- Remove the ball - 1 - from the release cable - 3 - and from the adjusting lever - 7 -.

- Carefully remove the release cable - 3 - in the direction of the left footwell.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

- Install the center console. Refer to Storage Compartments, Covers and Trim.

- Install the front heat and fresh air controls. Refer to => [ Front Heat and Fresh Air Controls ] Front Heat and Fresh Air Controls.

- Install footwell vent on the driver side. Refer to => [ Footwell Vent, Driver Side ] Footwell Vent, Driver Side.

• After the installation perform the following function checks.

• The temperature adjustment knob must be able to be adjusted easily.
