Radiator

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the cover for the intake air duct, disengage the side clips - arrows - to do so.






- Unclip the lower intake air duct, disengage the clips - arrows - to do so.






- Remove the intake air duct bolts - arrows - and remove the air duct.






- Remove both the lower intake air duct and the intake air tube.

- Remove the fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud ] Fan Shroud.

- Remove the upper coolant hose - arrow - from the radiator.






- Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 - and remove the radiator.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Radiator, Fan Shroud and Fan Overview ] Radiator, Fan Shroud and Fan Overview.

- Check the coolant level. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Service and Repair.
