Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Overview







1 - ABS control module -J104- => [ ABS control module and hydraulic unit ] ABS control module and hydraulic unit
• Attached to the ABS hydraulic unit and is located inside the engine compartment on the right side.
• Depending on vehicle configuration, the following components can be integrated in the ABS control module:
• ESP sensor unit -G419-

• Transverse acceleration sensor -G200-

• Rotation rate sensor -G202-

• Longitudinal acceleration sensor -G251-


2 - ABS hydraulic unit -N55- with ABS hydraulic pump -V64- => [ ABS control module and hydraulic unit ] ABS control module and hydraulic unit
• Located inside the engine compartment on the right side.
• The ABS hydraulic unit contains of the following:
• ABS hydraulic pump -V64-

• Brake pressure sensor 1 -G201-


7 - Brake lamp switch -F- with Brake pedal switch -F47- => [ Brake lamp switch ] Locations
• Located on the brake master cylinder.

10 - Right rear ABS wheel speed sensor -G44- or Left rear ABS wheel speed sensor -G46- => [ Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensors ] Locations

12 - Right front ABS wheel speed sensor -G45- or Left front ABS wheel speed sensor -G47- => [ Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensors ] Locations
