Inner Door Seal

The inner door seals are equipped at the factory with sealant, applied to the door flange and then rolled on.

• The sealing compound will be distributed on the inside of the seal and the flanks will be slightly bent when the seal is removed. If the seal is installed again, it may not fit securely and it make leak.

• For this reason, every seal, that has been removed completely, must be replaced with a "hammer-stroke seal".

• With partially removed seals, press the edges of the seal together before installing.

• The following describes removal and installation of the left inner door seal only. The procedure for the right inner door seal is derived accordingly from this.

Removing






- In order to remove the inner door seal, remove the necessary pillar trims.

- Remove the sill panel strip.

- Remove the inner door seal - 1 - in the lower A-pillar area, sill panel strip, and lower B-pillar from the body flange.

- Unclip the rubber clips - 2 - and - 3 - on the A-pillar and the B-pillar.

- Remove the inner door seal - 1 - in the upper B-pillar area from the body flange.

- Remove the inner door seal - 1 - in the upper A-pillar on the roof from the clamps - 4 -and then evenly from the body flange.

• Drill out the corresponding blind rivets - 5 - when installing the clamps - 4 -.

Installation






• Clamps - 4 - (9 pieces) installed and not damaged.

• Install the corresponding blind rivets - 5 - with the pop rivet pliers (i.e. (VAS 5072) ) when installing the clamps - 4 -.

- Align the inner door seal - 1 - to the B-pillar and roof corner.

- Install the inner door seal - 1 - on the body flange at the roof and upper A-pillar beginning at the B-pillar and press in the clamps - 4 - at the same time.

- Clip the rubber clips - 3 - onto the A-pillar.

- Install the inner door seal - 1 - on the body flange in the upper B-pillar area.

- Clip the rubber clips - 2 - onto the B-pillar.

- Install the inner door seal - 1 - in the lower A-pillar area, sill panel strip, and lower B-pillar on the body flange.

- Install the sill panel strip.

- Install the pillar trim.
