Door Window







Door Window

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Roller (T 10314)

Release tool (T 10236)

Trim removal wedge (3409)

Removing

The bolt - 3 - can have a left or right thread, depending on its installed position.

The bolts has a right thread if the bolt head has an inner TORX.

The bolts has a left thread if the bolt head has an outer TORX.






Perform the following:

- Remove the rear door trim.

- Pry out the cap.

- Lower the door window - 1 - until the bolts - 3 - in the window regulator opening are accessible.

The bolts has a right thread if the bolt head has an inner TORX.

The bolts has a left thread if the bolt head has an outer TORX.

- Loosen the bolt - 3 - but do not remove it.

- Separate the clamping bracket - 2 - slightly.

If the step is not possible due to a malfunction in the window regulator, the motor is removed. Then the window can be moved to the necessary position.






- Remove the rear trim - 2 -. Refer to => [ Rear Door Trims ] Rear Door Trims.

- Pull the back part of the window guide out of the mount.

- Remove the door window - 1 - upward at an angle - arrows b - with respect to the outside of the vehicle from the window shaft.

Installing

The spreader plug and spreader pin must be replaced when performing assembly work on the door window.

Check the door window - 1 - for damage before installing the spreader plug - 3 - and the expanding pin - 4 -.






Perform the following:

- Insert the door window - 1 - in the window guides in the - direction of arrow a -.

Make sure the door window is inserted correctly in the window guide.

- Without using any pressure, guide the door window - arrow c - into the clamping brackets - 3 -.

- Align the door window inside the window frame - arrow b -.






- Tighten the clamping screws - 3 - (quantity: 2). Tightening specification: 8 Nm.

The bolts has a right thread if the bolt head has an inner TORX.

The bolts has a left thread if the bolt head has an outer TORX.

- Continue by performing the steps used in removal in reverse order.

A function test must be performed before the door trim is installed.
