ATF Pipes and Cooler, Cleaning






Transmission Fluid Pipes and Cooler, Cleaning

Before installing a replacement transmission, always clean out the transmission fluid cooler and pipes using compressed air (maximum 10 bar).

Wear protective eyewear.

- Clean the following connections thoroughly: Transmission fluid pipe/transmission, transmission fluid pipe/thermostat and transmission fluid pipe/cooler.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - from the thermostat - 2 -.






- Remove the transmission fluid pipes from/to the thermostat - 2 -. Counter hold at the thermostat.

- Remove the transmission fluid cooler and drain it.

- Remove the transmission fluid pipe bolts - 1 and 2 - from the transmission and remove the pipes.






- Attach a hose to one transmission/thermostat ATF pipe and secure it with a hose clamp. Hang the other end of the hose in a suitable container.

- Clear the transmission fluid pipe with compressed air.

- Connect the hose to the other pipe and repeat the procedure.

- Lubricate the O-ring with transmission fluid.

- Install the transmission fluid pipes. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Pipe Overview ] Transmission Fluid Pipe Overview.

- Install the transmission fluid cooler.
