Power Adjustable Steering Column Control Module
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)
• Vehicle Diagnostic (VAS 5051B)
Removing
- Remove the steering column. Refer to => [ Steering Column ] Steering Column.
- Release and remove the connector - 1 -.
- Remove bolt - arrow -.
- Slightly lift the power adjustable steering column control module - 2 - and remove it from the steering column.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Install the power adjustable steering column control module - 1 - with the pin in the groove - arrow - in the steering column.
- Tighten the bolt.
If a power adjustable steering column is replaced, the power adjustable steering column control module is already installed on the new steering column and does not need to be modified.
If the power adjustable steering column control module was replaced, the power adjustable steering column control module must be adapted.
Use the (VAS 5051B).

Follow the instructions on the screen to perform the adaptation.
Perform a basic setting if the power adjustable steering column control module was replaced.
Use the (VAS 5051B).
