Parking Brake Control Module: Service and Repair






Electro-mechanical Parking Brake Control Module (J540)

The electro-mechanical parking brake control module is located behind the right side luggage compartment trim panel.

It is necessary to program the ABS control module (J104) and to perform a basic setting on the "brake system" (electro-mechanical parking brake) after replacing the electro-mechanical parking brake control module.

Excessive shaking (for example, dropping, impact) can damage the electro-mechanical parking brake control module. Do not use the electro-mechanical parking brake control module again if this happens.

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the key.

- Remove the right side trim panel in the luggage compartment..

- Press the button - arrow - on both sides toward the outside and remove the electro-mechanical parking brake control module - 1 -. Be careful of the wires still connected.






- Disconnect the connector and remove the electro-mechanical parking brake control module.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Adapt the electro-mechanical parking brake control module again.

- Select electro-mechanical parking brake and then "replacing electro-mechanical parking brake control module".
