Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533)
The data bus on board diagnostic interface (gateway control modules) is mounted under the instrument panel inside the driver footwell.
• Enter the battery data into the new control module if the data bus on board diagnostic interface (J533) is replaced. Refer to => [ Battery Data, Adapting ] Programming and Relearning.
Removal
- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.
- Remove the bracket for the Comfort system central control module (J393). Refer to => [ Comfort System Central Control Module (J393) Bracket ] Comfort System Central Control Module (J393) Bracket.
• It is necessary to remove the fuse panel on the driver side because there is a wiring harness behind it. The wires can remain connected to the fuse panel.
- Remove the fuse panel on the driver side. Refer to => [ Fuse Holder ] Fuse Holder.
- Remove the 3 screws - 1 - and lower the gateway control module bracket - 2 -. Pay attention to the wires still connected.
- Disconnect all the connectors from the data bus on board diagnostic interface - 1 -.
- Pull both retainers - arrows - toward the outside and remove the data bus on board diagnostic interface - 1 -.
Installation
Install in reverse order of removal.
