Door/Trunk Ajar Indicator/Lamp: Service and Repair

Door Warning Lamp

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

• The following describes removing and installing just one door warning lamp.

Door Warning Lamps

• Driver door warning lamp (W30)

• Front passenger door warning lamp (W36)

• Left rear door warning lamp (W37)

• Right rear door warning lamp (W38)

Removal

When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool (plastic wedge, screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Pry the Rear lid courtesy lamp (W51) - 1 - on the red side of the lens near the retainers - arrows - out of the trim panel with a screwdriver or the (VAS 3409).






- Disconnect the connector - arrow - and remove the warning lamp - 1 -.






Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.
