Oil Pump and Lower Oil Pan Overview
1 Bolt
• 8 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.
• Always replace.
• Tighten in a diagonal sequence and in steps.
2 Bolt
• 9 Nm
• Always replace.
3 Oil Baffle
4 Oil Pump
• Do not disassemble.
• With cold pressure relief valve 11 bar and pressure regulator valve 3.5 bar.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pump ] Oil Pump.
5 Bolt
• 24 Nm
6 Alignment Sleeve
7 Oil Pump Driveshaft
8 Support
9 Spring
10 Thrust Washer
11 Oil Pump Sprocket
• Installed position: lettering faces the engine.
12 Bolt
• 64 Nm
• To loosen, counter hold the sprocket using the spanner wrench (3212).
• If it is not possible to tighten the bolt to specification, remove the lower oil pan and the oil baffle and counter hold the oil pump driveshaft bolt with an open end wrench.
13 to the Accessory Bracket
14 O-ring
• Always replace.
15 Coolant Pipe
• Coolant hose connection diagram. Refer to => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.
16 Bolt
• 9 Nm
17 Lower Oil Pan
• With the oil level thermal sensor.
• Clean the sealing surface before installing.
• Install using silicone adhesive sealant (D 176 501 A1).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Lower Oil Pan ] Lower Oil Pan.
18 Oil Drain Plug
• M14 - 30 Nm
• M24 - 50 Nm
19 Seal
• Always replace.
20 Oil Level Thermal Sensor (G266)
• Checking.
Oil Spray Jet for Piston Cooling
1. Bolt - 9 Nm
2. Oil spray jet for cooling the piston and spray jet valve
• Opening pressure: 1.3 bar.
Oil Check Valve
The oil check valves are located on the rear of the face side of the left or right cylinder head - arrow -. They can be accessed after removing the left or right camshaft timing chain from the camshaft. Refer to => [ Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing from Camshafts ] Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing from Camshafts.
• Tightening specification: 25 Nm.
