Front Seat Backrest Cover and Cushion







Front Seat Backrest Cover and Cushion

The following describes removing and installing components on the left seat. Removing and installing components on the right seat is identical.

Removing and installing is shown as an example and applies to all equipment lines.

Removing

- Remove seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.

- Remove the headrest. Refer to => [ Headrest ] Headrest

- Remove the belt latch. Refer to => [ Front Belt Latches ] Front Belt Latches.

- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to => [ Tunnel Side Trim ] Tunnel Side Trim.

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim ] Door Sill Side Trim.

- Remove the backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest ] Backrest.

- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover ] Backrest Cover.

- For vehicles with a manual lumbar support, remove the adjusting lever from the shaft.






- Open the Velcro strap fasteners on the bottom of the rear seat backrest and detach the outer profiles - 1 - and - 3 -.






- Detach the center profile - 2 -.

- Detach the side and upper profiles - arrows -.

- Roll up the cover until the lower upholstery clips on the front side of the backrest are accessible.

- Cut all upholstery clips in the cushion channels and guide the seat heater wiring harness - 1 - through the opening in the cushion.






- Pull the cover over the headrest guides.

- Pull the cushion up over the headrest guides of the backrest frame.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

When installing upholstery clips, use upholstery clip pliers (V.A.G 1634).
