Hood Lock

Hood Lock

• The removal and installation of the hood lock may differ slightly depending on the model.

Removing

• The release cable - 2 - is not disconnected from the hood lock.






Perform the following:

- Open the hood.

- Disconnect the release cable - 2 - from the release cable coupling. Refer to => [ Release, Disconnecting ] Release, Disconnecting.

- Disconnect the harness connector - 7 - for the engine hood contact switch depending on the optional equipment.

- Remove the caps - 4 - from the bolts - 6 - - arrows a -.

- Remove the bolts - 5 and 6 - and remove the hood lock - 1 - upward - arrow b - from the lock carrier.

- Release the locking mechanism of the release cable - arrow c - and remove the release cable from the lid lock - arrow d -.

• Removing and installing the engine hood contact switch on the lid lock depending on the optional equipment.

Installation

• A new lid lock is always delivered with the release cable - 2 - installed.






Perform the following:

- Connect the release cable - 3 - in the hood lock - 1 - - arrow c - and lock - arrow b -.

- Install the hood latch - 1 - in the lock carrier - arrow a -.

- Connect the harness connector - 7 - for the engine hood contact switch depending on the optional equipment.

- Screw tightening specification - 4 -: 12 Nm.

- Screw tightening specification - 6 -: 12 Nm.

- Push the caps - 5 - onto the bolts - 4 - - arrows d -.

- Install the release cable - 2 - in the release cable coupling. Refer to => [ Release, Disconnecting ] Release, Disconnecting.

- Adjust the hood lock. Refer to => [ Hood Latch, Adjusting ] Hood Latch, Adjusting.

• Before closing the hood, test the function of the control lever and release cable.
