Clutch System Component Overviews






Clutch System Component Overviews

Obtain the anti-theft code for the radio before disconnecting the battery.

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery ground cable.

When connecting the battery

Lubricate the all bearing and contact surfaces with grease.

For the correct grease.

III - Hydraulics, Right Hand Drive (RHD) (Does not apply to the US/Canadian market)

Clutch Pedal






1 Bulkhead

With a mount for the bracket.

2 Gasket

Always replace

Between the bracket and the bulkhead.

Self-adhesive

Attached to the bracket.

3 Mounting Bracket

For the clutch pedal mounting.

Some equipment versions have a sound absorber, refer to => [ Bracket with Sound Absorber ].

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ] Mounting Bracket.

4 Bolt

5 Over-Center Spring

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Over-Center Spring ] Over-Center Spring.

6 Bushing

7 Pin

8 Clutch Pedal

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Service and Repair.

9 Mount

When removing and installing, separate the clutch master cylinder from, the clutch pedal using the pliers (T10005). Refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Service and Repair.

10 Gasket

Always replace.

Between the master cylinder and the bracket.

11 Master Cylinder

Remove and install after removing the bracket. Refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Master Cylinder.

12 Clutch Position Sensor (G476)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Position Sensor (G476) ] Service and Repair.

Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system (VAS 5051).

13 Circlip

To remove and install the hose/line assembly or pipe, pull the clip all the way out.

14 Supply Hose

15 Nut, Self Locking

25 Nm

Always replace

Quantity: 3

For the bracket to the bulkhead.

16 Nut

25 Nm

Always replace

17 Jounce Bumper

For the clutch pedal

1 Brake Fluid Reservoir

2 Seal

The seals must be inside the supply hose.

3 Supply Hose

4 Master Cylinder

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Master Cylinder.

5 Circlip

To remove and install the line, pull the clip out to the stop.

6 Seal/O-ring

Installed on the line connection.

Install using brake fluid.

Seal/O-ring design, refer to => [ Sea/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly
or Pipe ].

7 Mounting

To remove and install, disconnect the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Service and Repair.

8 Clutch Pedal

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Service and Repair.

9 Nut, Self Locking

See - item 15 - in => [ Clutch Pedal ].

10 Pipe

To remove the pipe, the battery and battery tray need to be removed.

11 Clip

Attached to the body.

12 Seal/O-ring

Installed on the line connection.

Install using brake fluid.

Seal/O-ring design, refer to => [ Sea/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly
or Pipe ].

13 Breather Assembly

14 Seal/O-ring

Installed on the line connection.

Install using brake fluid.

Seal/O-ring design, refer to => [ Sea/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly
or Pipe ].

15 Circlip

To remove and install the line and the breather, pull the clip out to the stop.

16 Vent Valve

Clutch system, bleeding. Refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Clutch System, Bleeding.

17 Cap

18 Clutch Slave Cylinder

The gasket can only be replaced when the transmission is removed.

19 Transmission

Sea/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly or Pipe










The seal/O-ring must be installed in the groove - arrows 1 and 3 -.
