Alarm Horn: Service and Repair

Alarm Horn (H12)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

The alarm horn is located on the right side under the plenum chamber cover.

• If the alarm horn is removed, then the anti-theft alarm system must be deactivated. Refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating ] Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating.

Removing

- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Moldings and Trim.

- Remove the nut - arrow - and remove the horn - 1 - from its mount while being careful of connected wires.






- Disconnect the release the harness connector - arrow - and remove the horn - 1 - from the vehicle.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Tighten the nut to the tightening specification (20 Nm).
