Hood Latch







Hood Latch

Removing






- Open the hood.

- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to => [ Radiator Grille ] Radiator Grille.

- Disconnect the cable - 2 - at the cable coupling. Refer to => [ Hood Release Cable, Disconnecting ] .

- Disconnect the connector from the engine hood contact switch (F266) (if equipped).

The connector is attached to the top of the lock carrier on the left side.

- Remove the bolts - 4 - from the lock carrier and the hood latch - 1 - - arrow a -.

- Guide the engine hood contact switch (F266) wire (if equipped) out of the lock carrier.

- Press the tabs - arrows b - and remove the retainer - 3 -.

- Remove the cable - 2 - from the hood latch - 1 -.

Installing






- Attach the cable - 2 - to the hood latch - 1 - and clip the retainer - 3 - into the hood latch - 1 - - arrow a -.

- Guide the engine hood contact switch (F266) wire (if equipped) back into the lock carrier.

- Install the hood latch - 1 - in the lock carrier - arrow b -.

- Install the bolts - 4 -.

Bolt - 4 - tightening specification: 12 Nm

- Connect the connector to the engine hood contact switch (F266) , (if equipped).

- Connect the cable - 2 - at the cable coupling. Refer to => [ Hood Release Cable, Disconnecting ] .

- Adjust the hood latch. Refer to => [ Hood Latch, Adjusting ] .

- Install the radiator grille. Refer to => [ Radiator Grille ] Radiator Grille.

Before closing the hood, make sure the hood release lever and the cable are working correctly.
