MIL ON, Incorrect Glow Plug Faults P06C5, P06C6, P06C7 and/or P06C8 Stored in Fault Memory

Technical Background

During the initial glow phase, after switching the ignition "On", the ECM performs a check of the glow plugs through the glow plug control module, to ensure the correct glow plugs are installed. If the engine is cranked
during this check, lowering the system voltage, the ECM may receive an incorrect reading and set incorrect glow plug faults.

A glow plug control module with a revised diagnostic strategy is under development.

Production Solution

Expected 1st quarter 2013

Service

Note:

DO NOT replace any components for faults P06C5 through P06C8.
