Engine Accessory Bracket: Service and Repair






Accessory Bracket

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine Support Bridge (10-222 A)

Removing

- Remove the engine mount bracket. Refer to => [ Engine Mount Bracket ] Engine Mount Bracket.

- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

- Remove the generator.


Do not open Air Conditioning (A/C) refrigerant circuit.

- Remove the A/C compressor from the accessory bracket and secure it to the lock carrier.

- Remove the idler rollers - 1 and 2 - and remove the bolt - arrow - for the toothed belt guard.






- Remove the bolts - 6 through 1 - and remove the accessory bracket.






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Make sure there are alignment sleeves inside the accessory bracket and replace any that are missing.

Replace bolts, which have been tightened to a torque angle.

- Install the bolts for the accessory bracket as follows:

Bolts - 1 and 2 - M10 x 52.

Bolts - 5 and 6 - M10 x 60.

Bolts - 3 and 4 - M10 x 30.

- Tighten the bolts in 4 steps in the following sequence: - 1 through 6 -:

- Install the bolts hand tight.

- Tighten all the bolts to 40 Nm.

- Tighten the bolts - 3 and 4 - an additional 45° (1/8) turn.

- Tighten the bolts - 1, 2, 5 and 6 - an additional 90° (1/4) turn.

- Install the generator.

- Install the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

- Install the engine mount bracket. Refer to => [ Engine Mount Bracket ] Engine Mount Bracket.
