Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair






Ribbed Belt Tensioner

Removing

- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Loosen the clamp - 2 -, lift the circlip - 1 - and remove the cold side hose.






- Remove the fan shroud and fans. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud with Coolant Fan ] Fan Shroud With Coolant Fan.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - from the charge air pipe and then disconnect the connector - 1 - from the charge air pressure sensor.






- Open the clamp - 2 -, free up the coolant hose - 3 - and remove the charge air pipe.






- Remove the bolt - 2 - and remove the ribbed belt tensioner - 1 -.






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace the bolt for the belt tensioner.

For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Drive Overview ] Ribbed Belt Drive Overview.

Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.
