• Repairs are made with the repair kit (G 052 523 A2).
• The vehicle is clean and dry.
- Tape off the components adjacent to the seal that will be repaired.
- Completely remove any loose Sipiol coating.
- Sand the unattached and attached seals in a 1 cm radius using 120 grit sandpaper.
- Roughen the rest of the coating up to the edges of the seal or to a vulcanized seam with 240 grit sandpaper.
- Clean the seal thoroughly with silicone remover (LSE 020 100 A3) and the lint-free cloth.
Always allow a curing time of 15 minutes at a minimum temperature of 60 °F (15° C).
- Soak the lint-free cloth with primer and apply the primer in one wiping motion. Then wipe the area immediately with a dry side of the cloth in one wiping motion. Only an extremely thin film of primer should remain on the seal.
Always allow a curing time of 5 minutes at a minimum temperature of 60 °F (15° C).
- Mix the curing agent and Sipiol well with the spatula.
- Dab the Sipiol on the seal evenly with the applicator. Air bubbles must not form under the Sipiol.
Always allow a minimum curing time of 8 hours at a minimum temperature of 60 °F (15° C).
• After the lubricating varnish cures, treat the new coating with the special rubber care set (000 096 331).
