Windscreen Damaged or Bent Locking Pin

Technical Background

The locking pin on the windscreen is damaged or bent, due to excessive force by outside influence.

Note:
This bulletin is being proactively released to introduce a windscreen repair kit.

DO NOT replace complete windscreen if pin damage is present.

Locking pin repair





^ Remove the damaged locking pin from the windscreen, see Repair Manual Group 68 Interior Equipment - Windscreen Locking Pin Removal and Installation in ElsaWeb





^ Straighten the pin and then tap it out from the sleeve

^ Reinstall the sleeve into the windscreen

^ Install the new parts from the repair kit, see Repair Manual Group 68 Interior Equipment - Windscreen Locking Pin Removal and Installation in ElsaWeb.

Tip:

The repair kits are available in both left and right sides. Be sure to order the correct repair kit.
