PDI - Radio Navigation RNS 510 Map Download
Technical Background
This procedure will download the map DVD on to the hard drive.
Tip:
This procedure does not apply to RNS-315, RNS-850 or RER navigation radios.

Service
Tip:
^ The term "Press" is used to indicate a physical button being pressed.
^ The term "Touch" is used to indicate an icon on the screen is to be selected.
Procedure
1. Take vehicle out of transport mode.
2. Code radio.
3. Switch ignition ON, with engine OFF.
4. Switch radio ON.
5. Press map button on radio.
6. Insert NAVTEQ map disc.
Tip:
If DVD assigned to vehicle is not available, use any new MAP DVD to complete download. DVD that is used must stay in vehicle.
Allow disc to load for a minimum of 5 minutes.
7. Press Eject button on radio.
Note:
DO NOT Touch Eject prompt on screen. Allow status bar to complete, download will continue to next screen.
8. Proceed with the rest of the PDI.
9. If PDI is completed prior to MAP loading, switch ignition key OFF and switch radio ON to complete MAP download.
Tip:
If the navigation screen goes blank, press power button on radio to resume download.
10. Download is now complete. Touch Eject on screen to remove the disc.
11. DVD must be removed from radio, returned to the storage case, and remain with the vehicle.
