Right Coolant Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Engine Support Bridge (10 - 222 A)

• Spanner Wrench (3212)

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.

- Remove the generator.

- Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler pump (V400). Refer to => [ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Pump ] Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Pump.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the EGR coolant thermostat and connection from the thermostat and connection.





• Ignore - 2 and 3 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the starter.





- Remove the nut - 1 - and then remove the battery positive wire form the threaded pin on the starter.

- Install the (10 - 222 A) as illustrated.





• The spindle is positioned forward.

- Attach the spindle from the (10 - 222 A) to the right rear engine lifting eye.

- Pretension the engine slightly using the spindles.

- Remove the nut - 1 - on the right longitudinal member and disconnect the ground connection.





- Remove the bolts and nuts - 1 through 5 - and remove the right engine mount bracket upward.





- Using (3212) as a counter hold, remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the coolant pump pulley.





- Remove bolt - 1 -.





- Remove the coolant hose - arrow - from the right coolant pipe by lifting the retaining clamp.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - and the nut - 2 -.





- Remove the right coolant pipe forward from the cylinder block.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pipes Overview ] Description and Operation.

• Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type, refer to the parts catalog.

• Replace O-rings.

• The hose connections as well as the charge air pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

• Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type, refer to the parts catalog.

- Install the coolant pump pulley. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump and Coolant Thermostat Overview ] Description and Operation.

- For the engine mount bracket tightening specifications, refer to => [ Engine Mount and Bracket Overview ] Description and Operation.

- Tighten the battery positive wire on the starter.

- Install the coolant thermostat and connection. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump and Coolant Thermostat Overview ] Description and Operation.

- Install the EGR cooler pump. Refer to => [ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Pump ] Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Pump.

- Install the generator.

- Fill the cooling system. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
