Rear Brake Cables
Removing
- Remove both rear wheels.
- Remove the center console.
- Before loosening the nut - 1 -, measure dimension - a -.
- Note the measured value.
- Loosen the nut - 1 - until the brake cables can be disengaged from the compensator bracket.
- Unclip the cable sleeve from the mount.
Cable, Disengaging from the Spreader
Only possible with a released brake cable.
- Remove the locking bolt - arrow - for the parking brake adjustment nut.
- Push the brake cable nipple against the retaining spring in the spreader downward until the brake cable can be pulled out.
The right side is a mirror image, that means the brake cable nipple must be pushed upward.
- Unclip the brake cable from the retainer.
- Remove the brake cable from the retainer on the subframe and pull out.
Installing
- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
The brake cable nipple must noticeably engage in the spreader.
- Engage the brake cables in the compensator bracket.
- Tighten nut - 1 - onto the pull rod - 2 - until dimension - a - measured before removal is reached.
- Check the free play at the foot operated parking brake lever. Refer to => [ Pedal Parking Brake
