- Remove the ignition key and engage the steering wheel lock.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the air filter housing.

- Remove the battery and the bracket.

- Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission - 1 - and pull it out of the bracket - 2 -.

Be careful not to bend the cable. Do not use pliers, otherwise the retainers on the cable bracket may break off.

- Pry the cable off the selector shaft lever - 3 - ball head using a open end wrench - 2 -.

- Disconnect the following/all electrical connections to transmission and starter that are easily accessible from above.

- Mark the position of the driveshaft flexible disc to the bevel box output flange.

- Remove the flexible disc bolts - arrows - from the bevel box.

- Counter hold the rear final drive to loosen and tighten the driveshaft.

To loosen the next bolt, rotate the driveshaft by turning the rear wheels.

- Guide the driveshaft upward into the tunnel and support it on the steering gear shield using a suitable wooden block.

- Remove the bevel box to transmission upper bolts - arrows -.

- Remove the bevel box to transmission lower bolts - arrows -.

- Press the engine and transmission forward by hand and secure in this position using a suitable block of wood - A -.

- Carefully press the bevel box off the transmission and remove it downward.

- Remove the wooden block.

- Lower the vehicle.

- Install the engine support bridge (10-222 A).

- To prevent warping when loosening and tightening the transmission mount, arrange the left and right brackets with spindles and hooks (10-222 A/10) as follows:

Left (Transmission Side):

- Align the adapter (10-222 A/18) on the engine support bridge (10-222 A) so the spindle hook engages vertically in the lifting eye on the engine.

The spindle is on an angle, the upper end points toward the center of the vehicle.

Right (Engine Side):

- Hold the M10 nut - arrow - under the engine mount. Insert the lifting eyebolt (3368) through the engine mount. Install the nut approximately 8 turns on the eye bolt.

- Install the shackle (10-222 A/12) to the eye bolt.

- Engage the bracket with spindle and hook (10-222 A/10) in the shackle and align the spindle vertically.

- To stabilize the engine support bridge, first counter turn the spindle and then tighten it about 6 turns.

From this point on, only the left spindle (transmission side) is rotated.

- Support the engine and transmission. Do not lift up yet.

- Remove the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts - 1 -.

- Remove the transmission mount bracket - 2 - to transmission bolts.

- Then, lower the engine/transmission using engine support bridge (10-222 A) spindles about 6 turns.
