Center and Rear Muffler, Separating

• A separating point has been provided in the connecting pipe for individual replacement of the center or rear muffler.

• The separating point is marked by a depression around the circumference of the exhaust pipe.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Chain Pipe Cutter (VAS 6254)

or

• Body Repair Saw (V.A.G 1523A)

- Separate the exhaust pipe at the separating point - 2 - using the chain pipe cutter (VAS 6254) or body repair saw (V.A.G 1523A).






- When installing, position the double clamp in the center on the side marks - 1 and 3 -.

- Install the clamping sleeve so that the end of the bolt - arrow - does not extend beyond the lower edge of the clamping sleeve.






• Threaded connection points to the rear

Align the Rear Muffler





- Align the rear muffler so that dimensions - a - are the same.

Tightening specification:

Clamping sleeve with 2 individual clamps, 25 Nm.

Clamping sleeve with a continuous clamp, 35 Nm.
