Condition

Instrument Cluster Multifunction Display Message of Exterior Light Failure

Note:

The condition as described does not affect exterior lighting.





MFI Displays "Check parking lights/dipped beam/indicator" (low beam) although the exterior lights are operating properly.

The warning indicator for light failure in the instrument cluster is NOT ILLUMINATED.

Technical Background

Incorrect initialization of software in power system control module.

Production Solution

No production change required.

Service

Reset Procedure

1. Switch OFF ignition.

2. Switch OFF light switch.

3. Disconnect wiring harness connector for the left headlamp.

4. Switch ON ignition.

5. Wait until the warning indicator for light failure in the instrument cluster illuminates.

6. Reconnect wiring harness connector for the left headlamp.

7. Cycle the ignition switch OFF, and then ON.

8. Wait until the warning indicator for light failure in the instrument cluster switches OFF.

9. Delete the memory of the power system control module.
