New GFF function test for engine will not start or intermittently does not start conditions.
Technical Background
Engine grounds may not be secure.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
As of Brand CD 15.96.00 there is available a new function test that guides the technician to check all threaded ground connections inside the engine compartment when some electronic fault combinations and symptoms occur in the vehicle.
Scan the vehicle faults through Guided Fault Finding; if the failure conditions are present in the vehicle, the test plan will show the function test called: "Check ground connections - engine compartment".
The technician must start first with this test plan before other repairs are done in the vehicle. If after this verification, all threaded connections are OK, the technician should continue with the other function tests proposed by the test plan, in order to diagnose the cause of the fault.
