Power Convertible Top End Position Locking Mechanism, Inspecting

• The opened convertible top is locked in the end position by two locking devices. Both locking devices hold the convertible top in the opened position in the event of a vehicle accident. Function of this locking must be guaranteed.

Test conditions

• Convertible top must be opened completely (convertible top warning light must not light up).

Perform the following work procedure:

- Switch ignition on.

- Open both moving covers at rear side windows by pressing convertible top switch in center console downward only as long until both covers have opened and stand almost vertically.

- Then switch ignition off immediately.

• Closing operation of convertible top must not have been activated yet.

- Look into the opened flaps.

Example, right rear locking device.





Locking device - 2 - must enclose pin - 1 - on both sides.
