Condition
Bulb Indicator Light ON in Instrument Cluster
Bulb indicator light illuminated with various rear lighting messages in the MFI.
Note:
Condition does not affect Rear External Lighting performance.
Light messages in MFI may vary. Picture is for illustration only.
Technical Background
^ The MFI display of the instrument cluster shows a series of messages concerning rear lighting.
^ Messages in the MFI will vary indicating brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, back up lights, etc.
^ Guided Fault Finding displays no faults stored in the Central Electrics Module.
Production Solution
Correction in production during central electrics control module programming.

Service
Corrective action is to reset the central electrics control module by disconnecting the battery.
Refer to ElsaWeb for battery disconnecting instructions.
Tip:
Be sure all windows are in the closed (up) position to maintain the basic settings of the windows.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable for 30 seconds.
2. Reinstall negative battery cable and tighten to 6Nm.
3. Connect VAS tester and enter Vehicle Self Diagnosis.
4. Enter "Compiling Services" and select "Erase DTC Memory - Entire Vehicle".
5. If ESP and Steering light is illuminated perform "Basic Settings" using Guided Functions.
6. Check the operation of all lights and disconnect diagnostic equipment.
