Intermediate Shaft, with CV Joint VL107

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)


When disassembling and performing repairs on vehicle, the drive axles must not be allowed to hang down and contact the stops in the joint by overflexing.

Removing

- Remove the drive axle on the right side. Refer to => [ Drive Axle, with CV Joints VL90, VL100 and VL107 ] Drive Axle, with CV Joints VL90, VL100 and VL107.

- Loosen the bolts - arrows - on mounting bracket.





- Pull intermediate shaft off from transmission.

Servicing, refer to => [ Intermediate Shaft, Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL 107 ] Intermediate Shaft, Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL 107.

Installing

- First replace the seal - 1 - on transmission.





- Now slide intermediate shaft onto transmission stub shaft until bearing - 2 - makes contact with mounting bracket - 1 - - arrow - without gap.





- Fasten bolts - arrow - to torque specification.





- Install drive axle. Refer to => [ Drive Axle, with CV Joints VL90, VL100 and VL107 ] Drive Axle, with CV Joints VL90, VL100 and VL107.
