1 ABS Control Module (w/EDL) (J104)

• Component location: At hydraulic unit on right side of engine compartment.

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)

• Do not disconnect connector before successfully completing On Board Diagnostic (OBD). Switch ignition off before separating connector.

• Removal and installation, refer to => [ Control Module and Hydraulic Unit ] Control Module and Hydraulic Unit.

2 ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55)

• Component location: in engine compartment, right.

The hydraulic unit consists of the components:

• ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64)

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051).

• Valve block (contains inlet and outlet valves).

• ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64) and valve block must not be separated from each other.

3 Brake Pad Wear Indicator Lamp (K32)

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

• Function, refer to => [ Level Control System Indicator Lamps ] Level Control System Indicator Lamps.

4 ABS Warning Lamp (K47)

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

• Function, refer to => [ Level Control System Indicator Lamps ] Level Control System Indicator Lamps.

5 Traction Control Indicator Lamp (K86)

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

• Function, refer to => [ Level Control System Indicator Lamps ] Level Control System Indicator Lamps.

6 Brake System Warning Lamp (K118)

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

• Function, refer to => [ Level Control System Indicator Lamps ] Level Control System Indicator Lamps.

7 Brake Light Switch (F) through 10.05.2005

• Includes Brake Pedal Switch (F47).

• Component location: on brake pedal.

• Removal, installation and adjustment, refer to => [ Brake Light Switch, through 10.05.2005 ] .

8 Brake Light Switch (F) from 10.05.2005

• Includes Brake Pedal Switch (F47).

• Component location: On brake master cylinder.

• Removal and installation, refer to => [ Brake Light Switch, from 10.05.2005 ] Brake Light Switch, from 10.05.2005.

9 ASR/ESP Button (E256)

• Component location: in center console.

10 Diagnostic Connection

• Component location: cover in driver footwell.

11 Right Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G45)/Left Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G47)

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051).

• Removal and installation, refer to => [ Front ABS Components Assembly Overview ] Front ABS Components Assembly Overview.

12 Wheel Bearing Housing

13 Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub Unit

• The ABS sensor ring is installed in the wheel bearing

14 Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G44)/Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G46)

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051).

• Removal and installation, refer to => [ Rear ABS Components Assembly Overview, FWD ] Rear ABS Components Assembly Overview, FWD.

15 Rear Axle Body with Stub Axle

16 Wheel Hub with Wheel Bearing

• The ABS sensor ring is installed in the wheel bearing.
