Knee Airbag Bracket

Removal

- Disconnect vehicle battery.

- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel ] Instrument Panel

- Remove the footwell vents on the driver side.

- Remove the bolt - 9 - (1.5 Nm) and loosen the bracket - 8 -.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and - 4 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove the bolts - 1 -, - 2 -, - 6 - and - 7 - and then the bracket - 5 -.





Installation


If a knee airbag bracket is being replaced, then the paint around the threaded pin and on the crossmember surfaces must be removed. This is necessary to assure the perfect ground connection.


Install the bolts in this sequence: - 2 -, - 6 -, - 1 - and - 7 - to assure a correct installation.

- Attach the knee airbag bracket with bolts - 2 -, - 6 -, - 1 - and - 7 - (9 Nm).

- Further installation is in reverse order of removal.
