Clutch Pedal Position Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair






Clutch Position Sensor (G476)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Removing

- First, check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the anti-theft code.

- Remove the battery and, if necessary, remove the rear panel on the battery case.






If a hose/line assembly - 1 - with a round component is installed directly below the master cylinder, then it will be necessary to remove the hose/line assembly.

While performing the following step, make sure no brake fluid comes into contact with the longitudinal member or the transmission. If it does, clean the area thoroughly.

- Clamp off the supply hose to the master cylinder using a hose clamp up to 25 mm dia. (3094).






- Pull out the clip - 2 - from the master cylinder using a screwdriver or a pointed tool until it stops.






- Remove the hose/line assembly - 1 - from the master cylinder and plug the master cylinder.

- Unclip the clutch position sensor from the master cylinder - arrow - and remove it.

- Disconnect the connector - 4 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

Replace the hose clamps

Refer to the Parts Catalog.

If the hose/line assembly was removed:

- Insert the hose/line assembly - 1 - with a new seal - 2 - into the master cylinder - 4 - until the clip - 3 - engages audibly.






- Pull on the hose/line assembly to make sure it is secure.

- Remove the hose clamp up to 25 mm dia. (3094) and bring the supply hose back to its original shape.

- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Service and Repair.

- Install the battery.
