Power Distribution Module: Description and Operation

Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519)

• The relay carrier is clipped to the vehicle electrical system control module and can be removed. Refer to => [ Relay Carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) ] Relay Carrier on Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519).

• If the vehicle electrical system control module is being replaced, then always perform the procedure => [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519), Coding ] Testing and Inspection to read out the code stored in the module.

• After replacing the vehicle electrical system control module, the other functions of the vehicle electrical system control module, such as the anti-theft immobilizer, the anti-theft alarm system, the start authorization, the tire pressure monitoring system and the key for the central locking must be adapted, depending on the vehicle equipment level.

General Description:

The vehicle electrical system control module controls the following functions:

• Electric load management

• Exterior light control

• Turn signal control

• Wipe/wash, windshield and rear window

• Headlamp Washer System

• Rain light sensor

• Windshield and rear window defrosters

• Interior light control

• Terminal control

• Dimming, instrument illumination

• Footwell lamp

• Fuel Pump (FP) supply

• Pre-energizing of generator

• Horn

• Warning lamp

• Release control

• Controls central locking system

• Front and rear door control module activation

• Actuates rear lid unlock

• Actuates tank flap release

• Anti-theft alarm system activation

• Anti-theft immobilizer activation

• Start authorization activation

Vehicle Electrical System Control Module is equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists in troubleshooting.
