Steering Column Switch
The removal and installation of individual steering column switch components must be done in a specified sequence => [ Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence ] Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence.
There are two versions of the steering column combination switch components, the steering column electronic systems control module and the steering column switch base carrier depending on the manufacturer (Valeo or Kostal). In order to determine which version is installed, check the mounting for the steering column electronic systems control module on the steering column combination switch.
• Manufacturer Valeo: 3 bolts
• Manufacturer Kostal: 1 bolt at the bottom and two clips at the top
• Code the new electronic steering column lock control module (J764). Refer to => [ Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module (J764), With KESSY, From 06.10, Coding ] Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module (J764), With KESSY, From 06.10, Coding.
• After installing a new steering column electronic systems control module (J527) , it must be coded. Refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), With KESSY, From 06.10, Coding ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), With KESSY, From 06.10, Coding.

DTC Recognition and Display
The electronic steering column lock control module (J764) has OBD.
For troubleshooting, use Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B) in operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".
