Condition
Mounting for Parcel Shelf Securing Strap on Rear Lid Trim Broken
When opening rear lid the parcel shelf does not open evenly.
Technical Background
The mounting tabs from the upper rear lid trim that secure the nylon cord may break.
^ Ensure lower storage area does not restrict parcel shelf from laying flat.
^ Ensure that the parcel shelf is latched correctly in both pivot points behind rear seat back, if not, damage will occur to the mounting tabs located on the upper trim panel of the rear lid when closing or opening.
Production Solution
The position of the mounting tab located on the upper trim panel has been changed.
Service
^ Replace the upper trim panel Part No. 5K6 867 603 82V (nK) on the rear lid, see Repair Manual Group 70 Interior Trim in ElsaWeb.
