Torque Converter, Installing

- Press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop.

- Lightly press the torque converter toward the transmission and turn it until the slots on the torque converter hub - arrow - engage in the drive lugs on the ATF pump and the torque converter slides inward noticeably.






The converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission.

The converter and ATF pump will get damaged if the converter is installed incorrectly and force is used to attach the transmission to the engine.
