Heated Oxygen Sensor G39 and Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 G108

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ring Spanner 7-piece Set (3337)

To remove the heated oxygen sensor 2 just remove the air filter housing and connecting pipe.

Removing

- To remove the heated oxygen sensor: Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- To remove the heated oxygen sensor 2: Remove the air filter housing with the connecting pipe.

- Disconnect the electrical connectors - 1 and 3 - for the heated oxygen sensor and heated oxygen sensor 2.






- Free up the electrical wires to the oxygen sensors.

- Remove the heated oxygen sensor - 1 - and the heated oxygen sensor 2 - 2 -.






Installing

- When reusing an old oxygen sensor again, only use hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3) to grease the threads; do not let the paste get onto the slits of the oxygen sensor body

- Install the heated oxygen sensor - 1 - into the bank 1 exhaust pipe. Identifying feature: black connector.






- Install the heated oxygen sensor 2 - 2 - into the bank 1 exhaust pipe. Identifying feature: brown connector.

Tightening specification: 50 Nm

- Install the wiring to it's original location again.

Further installation is performed in the reverse order.
