Comfort System Central Control Module J393
Depending on equipment, the following control modules are integrated in the Comfort System Central Control Module (J393) :
• Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module (J362) or Access/Start Control Module (J518)

General Description
Depending on equipment, the Comfort System Central Control Module performs the following tasks in the vehicle:
• Controls central locking system
• Front and rear door control module activation
• Actuates rear lid unlock
• Actuates tank flap release
• Actuates anti-theft alarm system. For additional information, refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System ] Anti-Theft Alarm System.
• Actuates immobilizer. For additional information, refer to => [ Immobilizer ] Immobilizer.
• Actuates access/start authorization system. For additional information, refer to => [ Access/Start Authorization ] Access/Start Authorization.
• If the Comfort System Central Control Module is to be replaced, the work procedure => [ Replacing/Coding ] Replacing/Coding to read out the codes stored in the module must always be performed.
• After replacing the Comfort System Central Control Module, other functions of the Comfort System Central Control Module such as "anti-theft immobilizer", "anti-theft alarm system", "access/start authorization", "tire pressure monitoring system" and central locking system key must also be adapted, depending on vehicle equipment.
• For these, start with adaptation of anti-theft immobilizer (=> [ Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module J362, Adapting ] Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module J362, Adapting) and then the other, equipment-dependent functions of the Comfort System Central Control Module in any sequence.
The following comfort system functions can be adapted after connecting the vehicle tester, selecting "Guided Fault Finding", pressing the "Go to" button, pressing the "Function/component selection" button and selecting the menu items "Body", "Body Repair Work", "01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems", "Comfort system" and "Functions - comfort system central control module":
• "Factory Mode", deactivating
• Adapt "Single door opening"
• Adapt "Automatic locking"
• Adapt "Automatic unlocking when ignition key is removed"
• Adapting "Acknowledgment for unlocking via access/start authorization"
• Adapt "Acknowledgment for unlocking via radio remote control"
• Adapt "Acknowledgment for unlocking via key switch"
• Adapting "Acknowledgment for locking via access/start authorization"
• Adapt "Acknowledgment for locking via radio remote control"
• Adapt "Acknowledgment for locking via key switch"

DTC Recognition and Display
The Comfort System Central Control Module is equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists troubleshooting.
