Tester, Connecting

Volkswagen offers various testers, for example:

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B)

• Tester (VAS 5051/11A)

• Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052)

• Diagnosis System (VAS 5053)

The operation of this tester is described in the respective operating instructions.

The following description is based on the (VAS 5051). Refer to => [ Connecting the VAS 5051 ].

Connecting the VAS 5051

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

• Diagnostic Cable (VAS 5051/1) or

• Diagnostic Cable (VAS 5051/3)

CAUTION!
• During a test drive you must always secure testing and measuring equipment on the back seat.

• These devices may only be operated by a passenger during a test drive.

- Plug the connector for the (VAS 5051/1) or (VAS 5051/3) into the Data Link Connector (DLC).





- Turn on the tester - arrow -.





The tester is ready for operation when you can select between fields/buttons Guided Functions and Guided Fault Finding at the right of display.

Depending on equipment and tester version, additional functions may be displayed.

Tester is not ready for operation.

- Turn on the ignition.

- Touch a field/button on the display to start the desired function.
