Condition
MIL ON, DTCs P0325 or P0327 Stored in ECM Fault Memory
Technical Background
The condition is caused by humidity entering the knock sensor or its cable.
Note:
The condition as described does not compromise engine performance.
Production Solution
Improved knock sensors with extra heat insulation and a special holder for a modified installation position.
Service
1. Replace knock sensor -G61- with wiring harness 03H 905 377A.
2. Tighten the mounting bolt of knock sensors to 20 Nm (177 in. lbs.).
^ Inspect whether or not knock sensor bracket Part No. 03H 971 501 D (the new knock sensor bracket that is twisted 150) is installed.
If the old knock sensor bracket 03H 971 501 A is installed:
^ Replace with the new bracket Part No. 03H 971 501 D (Figure 2, inset A).
^ Install extra heat insulation Part No. 03H 971 461 as shown in Figure 3.
