A/C Compressor and Bracket, Engine Codes AXQ and BHX
Removing
• Refrigerant must be extracted before hand using e.g. A/C service station (VAS 6007A).
• Observe notes, refer to => [ Engine Compartment Refrigerant Circuit Components, 2 Zone and 4 Zone ] Engine Compartment Refrigerant Circuit Components, 2 Zone and 4 Zone.
• The tightening specification for bolts on the refrigerant lines to the A/C compressor is 20 ± 3 Nm.
• Note different screw lengths.
1 Screws M10x40
• 43 Nm
• Quantity: 2
2 A/C Compressor
• Removing:
- Removing ribbed belt.
• Position of ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Routing, Engine Code BAR ] Ribbed Belt Routing, Engine Code BAR
- Remove oil dipstick and servo line bracket screw and disengage left design cover mount - arrows -
- Left air filter housing, removing.
- Remove connector at Refrigerant Temperature Sensor (G454).
CAUTION!
There is a danger of ice-up.
Refrigerant leaks out if refrigerant circuit is not discharged.
Refrigerant must be extracted before opening the refrigerant circuit. If the refrigerant circuit is not opened within 10 minutes after extracting it, pressure may build up in the circuit again. The refrigerant must be extracted again.
- Disconnect the connector on the A/C compressor.
• Make sure the connector is secure on the A/C compressor.
- Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor.
• The bolts are different lengths.
• The tightening specification is 20 ± 3 Nm.
- Remove the bolts - 3 -.
3 Screws M8x90
• 25 Nm
• Quantity: 3
4 Screws M10x65
• 43 Nm
• Quantity: 2
5 A/C compressor auxiliary component bracket and power steering vane pump
• Removing:
• Remove the A/C compressor - 2 -.
• Removing and installing P.A.S. vane pump.
• installing:
- Install the bolts - 4 - first.
6 Dowel sleeves
• Quantity: 4
• Ensure correct seating in bracket.
