Electronic Steering Column Lock, Adapting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051A)

• If more than one component of the immobilizer is replaced, during ordering, it must be indicated that the VIN must be stored in the components (entry/ instruction during ordering in SAP: Store VIN). If this is not done, adaptation is not possible.

This program adapts the electronic steering column lock to the immobilizer. This procedure must be performed after removing and installing the steering column.

- Connect the (VAS 5051A).

- In (VAS 5051A) , select operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".

- Using the "Go To" button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:

• Body

• Electrical Equipment

• 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems

• Anti-Theft Immobilizer

• Anti-theft Immobilizer functions

• Adapting the electronic steering column lock
